Rachel Modlin
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Rachel Modlin (she/her) is the administrative assistant for Fear No Music. She works closely with the artistic and executive directors to ensure all operations run smoothly from donor management, PR and marketing, to ordering scores and corresponding with composers.
Rachel is a collaborative pianist from Portland, OR. She is the Assistant Collaborative Pianist at Reed College specializing in instrumental musicians. She frequently collaborates with Portland ensembles and companies including the Metropolitan Youth Symphony, Portland Center Stage, Portland Playhouse, Bach Cantata Choir, as well as accompanies recitals and competitions for the students of Oregon Symphony musicians. Rachel is a staff pianist for Classical Ballet Academy and she works with various religious institutions including Congregation Beth Israel, The Madeleine, and Our Lady of the Lake.
In addition to her performance schedule and admin work at FNM, Rachel is the Personal Assistant to composer, Kenji Bunch. Balancing out her music, Rachel teaches ballet at Classical Ballet Academy in SE Portland.
Rachel received her B.A. in Music from Reed College, with an emphasis in collaborative piano. She also studied at the Université Paris 8 in Paris, France. Rachel received academic honors from both institutions and her musical studies have been supported by the Kaufman and two Rothchild grants. Rachel’s primary piano teachers have been Jean-David Coen and Monica Ohuchi.
